Michael Russonella, M.D.

Dr. Russonella is a highly skilled and experienced, board certified orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist. Using the latest state-of-the-art procedures, he helps patients with acute and long-term injuries and conditions. This includes arthroscopies to the knee, ankle, hip, shoulder, and elbow, along with total knee and hip replacement and trauma surgery. He also performs and utilizes some of the latest cutting edge non-operative techniques to assist his patients including Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), bone marrow concentrate injections.

With a passion for the orthopaedics and sports medicine field, he completed his undergraduate degree, as well as numerous postgraduate courses in exercised physiology, at Montclair state University in Upper Montclair, New Jersey. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Lake Erie, Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, he completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Peninsula Hospital Center in Far Rockaway, New York, and at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York. He then had the opportunity to complete a fellowship in sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama, which is an institute well known for treating world class athletes.
