Does your child struggle with back pain? Depending on what is going on, your child may have suffered for several years. At the Spine INA, we understand the importance of the spine and how deeply it affects every part of life. That is why we have dedicated ourselves to providing sciatica treatment and more. We want to help people of all ages live life to the fullest.
In our last blog, we shared some great tips for helping your child get through the school year. Today, we have a few more insights for you to consider.
Don’t over-schedule
- The beginning of the school year is an exciting time full of possibilities. It’s easy to sign up for lots of activities and attend every one. The thing is, the beginning of the year is hectic enough for you child. Just learning the daily schedule, organizing materials, and figuring out the social part of school is enough for your child to handle along with back pain. Let your child adjust to the new schedule and feel successful before engaging in extracurricular activities.
Praise your child’s efforts to be successful
- Does your child go to school even when they’re in pain? Maybe they stay late at school getting extra help. Even if all they can do is complete homework on time, their efforts are worthy of praise. Because praise is most effective when it’s specific, make sure you note single things they have done well and acknowledge them deliberately.
Spin things positively
- In our last blog, we talked about how closely kids track their parents’ attitudes. If you stay positive, your child will make more effort. However, there are going to be times when your child doesn’t have the strength to face down challenges. If you are there to point them to the benefits of sticking with school and being able to enjoy summer break, you’ll be able to help them when they’re feeling low.
Remember to give us a call. We are ready to be an ally for you and your child and help them leave the pain behind.
