Even Out Your Load
- A backpack that is heavy on one side is going to have a dangerous effect on your spine over time. It causes the spine to shift laterally, creating stresses that, if repeated, can cause serious harm.
- No matter what you’re carrying, you should make sure the weight is distributed evenly across the bag. It is especially important if you are carrying something heavy like a water bottle or book. Keeping the weight distributed across your back reduces that lateral motion in your spine, and that is what you want every time.
