If you have arthritis or other joint pain, keeping your body healthy is one of the best things you can do. Luckily, Nature is on your side – and so are we! At the Spine INA, we know what it takes to keep backs healthy, and food is one of those things!

In our last blog, we discussed the anti-inflammatory benefits of tumeric and fatty fish. Today, we are wrapping up this little series with two last options for you!

Tart Cherries

These cherries get their red color from a compound called anthocyanin. This compound has the ability to give your joints relief. Even if you don’t want to buy a bunch of cherries, you can invest in tart cherry juice. Studies have shown that people who regularly drank tart cherry juice experienced improvements in both pain and stiffness.

Cabbage, Brussel Sprouts, and Broccoli

These ingredients make phenomenal additions to stir fries and salads. Studies are coming out about how they slow the damage of cartilage. How do they do this? They fight arthritis with a compound called sulforaphane, a compound found in the cruciferous family. These three members of the cruciferous family also deliver good overall health, so  find the one you like best and eat up!

Keeping yourself healthy doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Neither does pain management. Whatever you need to get moving again, the Spine Institute is ready to deliver. Explore our site, get familiar with our world-class treatments, and contact us for an appointment! We look forward to meeting you.
