Dr. Yanni continues to attend both domestic and international seminars to maintain and continue to develop his position as a spine specialist, innovator, and leader in the field of pain management. Such coursework includes the 52nd International Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Symposium in Seoul, South Korea, the first World Congress of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery in Hawaii, St Anna Hospital in Herne, Germany, and numerous Spinal Endoscopy Seminar Series. Dr. Yanni has conducted significant research in the areas of enhancing the safety of pain procedures, as well as developing less-invasive pain treatment technologies.
In addition to attending seminars, he also conducts teaching courses and seminars for other specialists on the performance of endoscopic procedures and spinal cord stimulators. Dr. Yanni is on the teaching panel for Richard Wolf Endoscopy and St. Jude Medical. Dr. Yanni’s interests include the treatment of chronic musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, sports injuries, neck and spinal disorders, cancer pain, complex regional pain syndrome (reflex sympathetic dystrophy), post-herpetic neuralgia (shingles), and many other acute and chronic pain syndromes.
He utilizes a multimodal approach, combining minimally-invasive fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided interventions with targeted medical therapies and the involvement of physical therapists and other consulting specialists when appropriate. Dr. Yanni feels that the most gratifying aspect of pain management is to facilitate functional restoration and a return to an active lifestyle. Dr. Yanni’s medical expertise and excellent bedside manner make him second to none.
