Spinal Surgery FAQ: How Long Will Surgery Affect Me?

Spinal Surgery FAQ: How Long Will Surgery Affect Me?

In our last blog, we took the time to answer two general questions about minimally invasive back surgery, including how to determine if you need it and are a good candidate. We understand that considering surgery can be an overwhelming and stressful process. That is why we are here to talk it over and explore your options.

In this blog, we are going to address two more important questions.

  1. How much work will I have to take off?
    • As you probably can expect, the surgery happens differently for individual patients. The type of job you have also determines the length of recovery.
    • If you work a sedentary job, you will be recovering from a minimally invasive procedure for one to two weeks. It is four to six weeks for recovering from a more major surgery.
    • If you have a job that requires you to move around a lot, you will need to recover longer before heading back to work. Our expert surgeons will be able to advise you on just how long you will need to fully recover.
  2. How long will I have pain?
    • Each procedure has a unique recovery time, but you can rest assured that if you have a minimally invasive procedure, your recovery time will be half the time it would take to recover from a traditional operation.

At the Spine INA, we are fully dedicating to providing world-class care for each and every one of our clients. Contact us to learn more about our proven procedures and the relief they can bring you.
